Description
A colour slide showing a two-story building which has decorations on the facade. Signage reads ‘Post office’. This building is identified as being on the corner of Spring and Grey Streets, Tauranga. It is decorated to celebrate the Orange Festival. Recorded by the photographer as ‘P.O.’ Tauranga Photo News published a similar image in their September edition with the caption "All Tauranga's streets and shops were gaily decorated for the Orange Festival but the Post Office claimed as much attention as any".

The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years. We ask that you publish an acknowledgement, or 'attribution', to Robert Gale when using this image.
