Description
A colour slide showing a ‘lake’ with paddle boats on it. A castle is visible beside the water. The location has been identified as Memorial Park, Tauranga. The marina was a community project organised by the Tauranga Jaycee in 1966. Recorded by the photographer as ‘Marina within the park. Children in paddle boats.’
The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
