Description
A colour slide showing a woman walking past a red letter-box. Signage on the box reads "Letters containing money or other enclosures should be taken into the post office and registered. Such letters being unregistered will be registered and charged double fee". Recorded by the photographer as "Old-type letter-box, Thames".
The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
