Description
A side-wall panel of a meeting house interior. Design is of a Marakihau. A mythological beast from the ocean, semi-human mermaid type animal. Bulbous eyes, stylised fins or spikes on head and one side of body, long slender tongue. Rauponga spirals on shoulders. Three fingered hand with thumb.
