Description
“Malolo” located at 57a Christopher Street. Built 1939. Tiles over front porch, arches. Home of H. Cuffe during 1940s. Spanish mission style stucco two bedroomed house. Lead light windows. Some windows replaced with aluminium joinery. Kitchen and bathroom have been updated recently (extant 2021). Garage on road frontage (extant 2021).
One of seventy photographs of buildings within the Te Papa Peninsula taken by Lyn Harpham in 1995 and 1999. Lyn Harpham was a historian and recipient of the Tauranga Heritage Award. Accompanying the images are handwritten notes made by Lyn and a brochure printed as a guide to a bus tour of the homes conducted by Lyn on 4 December 1995.
