Description
A pen and pencil sketch of Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui, by John Buckland. A note with the sketch reads: "Pilot Bay, Mount Maunganui, 1920. Note the remains of the iron framework where sailing ships moored while they took on water from a concrete tank on the hillside near the harbour entrance. An old house can be seen above the Pilot Bay Jetty. Drawn from photograph donated by Mr S. W. Collard, 33 The Mall, Mount Maunganui".
