Description
Studio portrait of Mary Pritt, aged 19. Dark haired girl with combed back hair. Wearing off shoulder tulle garment with fabric rose at the front. Written in ink on reverse. “Me at the age of 19 I think in the year 1916 when the young girls were photographed with tulle so that frocking would never date. A good idea I think but the draping in photography went out and of course that dated.”Shaded as in a vignette. Image by The Crown Studio, Cuba St, Wellington, New Zealand. Printed as a postcard.
