A vernacular sepia print showing two engines. Annotation reads 'These photos show the sequence of engine, gearbox, twin universals with spline and thrust bearings bolted to the engine beds.'

One of eighty-five photographic copy prints showing the construction of a boat identified as 'Lady Karen'. The photographs were taken by David Murrell who lived with boat builder Willie Oliver and his family in Judea, Tauranga, in 1956-1957. The annotations that accompany the images were made by John Oliver and David Murrell in 2013 and were compiled by Anne Murrell. The 'Lady Karen' was a single skin, kauri planked launch. 38/39ft in length. 11ft 6ins beam.
