Description
Black and white aerial photograph of Bowentown. No trees on waterfront at this time. The poplar by the roadside identifies Lance Deverall’s cottage opposite the store in 2012. There were several houses or baches and boats moored off the beach. The “Southern Cross” aeroplane flown by Kingsford Smith in 1933 landed on the dry flat paddock centre background. Stamped on the reverse WHITES AVIATION P O Box 2040 Auckland. This photograph is copyright and must not be reproduced without permission. Reference no. 38734 then in in April 1955.
