Description
A view of the ruins of the sulphur factory on Whakaari White Island. It was abandoned in the 1930s. A sulphuric acid stream is visible in the foreground. Part of a set of 23 coloured photographs documenting a trip to Whakaari White Island made on 27th September 1981. The photographs include scenes of flying to the island and the landscape and ruins at that time.
