Description
A colour slide showing two people at a lookout taking in the view of snow covered peaks in the distance. One of the people is using large binoculars attached to the top of a stone plinth to look at the mountain. Recorded by the photographer as "Viewing Mt. Cook from Hermitage".

The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
