Description
A colour slide showing a car being lifted by crane on to the ship pictured. The crane operator is in the top right hand corner, a floor down is a uniformed staff member of the vessel, and on the deck beneath are passengers. Recorded by the photographer as "Car being unloaded at Lyttelton".
The Tauranga Heritage Collection has more than 2000 photographic slides taken by Robert Gale. Robert and his family moved to Tauranga in the early 1960s and he taught at Merivale School until retirement. Robert was a member of the Tauranga Photographic Society for many years.
