Description
A whale’s tooth etched with two three masted vessels identified as barques. The barques appear to be anchored off a hilly coast. In the foreground a whale is visible with a whaling boat either side. Whalers are preparing to harpoon the animal. On the other side of the tooth are the words ‘Whaling, Cape of Good Hope’ with a branch with leaves. The smooth interior of the tooth is visible.
