Description
A cloak made from black satin that is hip length and fully lined. This late Victorian cloak is heavy embellished with appliqué, braid, beads, and cutwork. There is lace frill along the neck and hem. There are three hooks and eyes in the centre front for fastening.

This cloak is believed to have belonged to Emma Tilby. The Tilby family were well known locally and owned 'Arawa' a farm at Matua, Otumoetai, which is now a suburb of Tauranga.
