Description
A mustard coloured car coat or 'motoring dress' in heavy cotton material. The coat has two pockets on the outside and two on the inside. The coat is fully lined.
Car coats, also known as motoring dress, emerged in the early 1900s when most cars were open top and drivers required protection from the elements. The donor of this coat recorded that it was purchased in 1915.
