Description
A white cotton christening gown. The gown has a narrow strip of broderie anglais around the neck and hemline. The bodice also has a v shaped insertion of broderie anglais. The gown has a wide neck and is full length with broderie anglais down the side seams. There are small puffed sleeves which are edged with a narrow strip of broderie anglais as is the frilled edge at the shoulder. There are seven pintucks around the hem and narrow ribbon ties are located at the neck and waist.

At the time of donation it was stated that this gown dated to 1852.
