Description
A circular shaped water bottle with cork stopper attached by a chain. Is carried using the leather strap.

Introduced into the List of Changes in July 1895, this blue enamel bottle is covered in khaki wool felt. The spout at the top has a cork stopper secured by a chain. These bottles were used by New Zealand units in the Boer War. In 1914 they were considered unfit for further service and were replaced by MKVI.
