Description
A flat oval shaped, split cane woven basket used to store cotton. The interior is lined wth maroon coloured fabric with twisted red and white piping trim.

Handed down through the family from the great grandmother who came to Australia as a young bride and bought the basket out from England. The basket was given to Miss Carr by her mother, who in turn had received it from her mother, who had received it from her mother. Believed to have originated from seventh century France.
